1950 Oct 18th hurricane king hits with 125mph winds (hurdat) moderate damage,but heavier in west hollywood as the severe damage was in only a 10 mile wide swath 25 people hospitalized 125 homes heavily damaged,west hollywood was hit hard by a tornado.

2005, August 25th Hurricane Katrina hits with 80mph while moving WSW.Moderate damage reported in South Broward Damage shot | track and dates
2005,Oct 24th , Hurricane Wilma comes in just NW of here with 105mph winds from the SW. Moving very quickly NE at 25mph heavy rainbands on the east quadrant of WIlma gusting to 110mph causes significant damage in eastern Broward county.Hollywood reports 30 structures with heavy damage affecting 120 units. Hallandale reports 4 structures with heavy damage. Unofficial report of 104mph at TV6 in miramar.
