- 1968 October 16th Hurricane Gladys hits with 80 mph winds from the south causing heavy flooding & kills 1. Hurricane hunter has turbulence problems with Bob Sheets aboard 1 seriously injured.
- 1996 October 19th, Hurricane Lili hits from the south-southwest with 90 mph winds pressure 28.79 railway line damaged by fallen trees, banana crops badly damaged as well as tobacco crops.
- 1999 October 14th just north & west Hurricane Irene hits with 75 mph winds killing 2 in west Cuba while moving north.
- 2001 November 4th Hurricane Michelle passes just east with 130 mph winds causing moderate damage to the island & knocking down communication towers. While moving northeast pressure 28.03 inHg.
- 2002 September 20th Hurricane Isidore hits just west with 105 mph winds while slowly moving northeast. Roof damage trees down & powerlines down 967 mb.
- 2002 October 1st Hurricane Lili hits while moving northwest with 85 mph winds while strengthening. heavy damage & flooding, 2nd hurricane in 2 weeks.
- 2004 August 13th Hurricane Charley hits just east with 115 mph winds while moving north. Radar image
- 2008 August 30th Hurricane Gustav hits with 145 mph winds, causing heavy damage. Cars reported flung through air roofs ripped off homes but no one killed.
