• 1955: Diane is born August 7th in ITCZ. & would later affect the N.E. United States.
• 1970, Aug. 3rd: Texas is hit by Hurricane Celia. Corpus Christi has gusts to 161mph killing 70.
• 1976: Belle is born near the N.E. Bahamas on Aug. 6th & would later hit Connecticut & Massachusetts areas with gusts to 77mph.
• 1995: Erin hits central Florida & panhandle areas as a cat 1 on August 2nd.
• 2004: Hurricane Alex western eye wall hits the Outer Banks of North Carolina on the 4th with 100mph winds. Within 24 hrs, Alex went from a tropical storm SE of Charleston to a cat 2 while moving N.E.
• 2016, Aug 4th: In early morning Hurricane Earl hits near Belize City with 80mph winds while moving west.
• 2020, Aug 4th: Hurricane Isaias hits NC/SC border with 85mph winds would cause wind damage up eastern seaboard.
• 2024, Aug 5th: Hurricane Debby hits Big Bend of Florida passing over Steinhatchee with 80mph winds, 979mb, while moving northeast.
