• 1887: On the 19th a tropical storm hits central Cuba & the central Bahamas with 55mph winds.
• 1889: A hurricane lurks off the U.S. East coast with 95mph winds but never hits land.
• 1940: A tropical storm stays off the U.S. coast with 55mph winds & never hits land.
• 1948: A tropical storm with 40mph winds hits Haiti on the 23rd.
• 1951: Hurricane Able hits Grand Bahama Island with 85mph winds on the 18th.
• 1970: Alma hits the Cayman Islands with 60mph winds. By the time it reached the U.S. it was downgraded to tropical depression status on the 21st.
• 1976: A tropical storm moves over the Florida Panhandle with 50mph winds on the 24th.
