• 1886: A major hurricane is approaching the Texas / Louisiana border on Oct. 12th.
• 1887: A hurricane hits the north coast of the Dominican Republic on the 10th as a cat 1, then east Cuba as a cat 1 on the 12th. The hurricane actually strengthens from a tropical storm to a cat 2 while over Cuba. Would later hit Louisiana as a cat 2.
• 1892: Trinidad is hit by a cat 1 on Oct. 6th, then the A-B-C Islands as a cat 2 on the 8th. It then hits Belize as a cat 1 on the 12th.
• 1893, Oct. 12th: A cat 2 hits North Carolina / South Carolina border.
• 1894: Apalachicola, Florida gets hit by a cat 2 hurricane on Oct. 9th.
• 1894: Leeward Islands get hit by a cat 1 on Oct. 12th, would later hit Virgin Islands as a cat 2 on the 14th.
• 1896: South central Florida is hit by a cat 1 on the 9th coming from the S.W.
• 1905: Jamaica hit by a cat 1 on the 5th, then brushes Haiti as a cat 1. It then Great Inagua as a cat 1 on the 7th.
• 1906: Nicaragua is hit by a cat 2 on the 10th.
• 1909: Cayman Islands brushed by a cat 2 on the 9th, then west Cuba on the 10th as a cat 3, then South Florida as a cat 1, then Grand Bahama as a cat 1 on the 12th.
• 1912: N.E. Yucatan hit by a cat 2.
• 1916: Virgin Islands hit by a cat 2 on the 9th.
• 1923: A storm forms in the Pacific on Oct. 12th & would later hit Louisiana on Oct. 16th.
• 1941: Central & west Bahamas get hit by a cat 3 on the 6th, then Miami as a cat 3, then Florida Panhandle as a cat 1 on the 7th.
• 1945: Cayman Islands brushed by a cat 1, then central Cuba as a cat 2 on the 12th, then Andros Island as a cat 1 on the 13th.
• 1946: West Cuba hit by a cat 3 on Oct. 7th, then Tampa area hit as a cat 1 on the 8th.
• 1947: South Florida is hit by a cat 1 on the 12th.
• 1948: Cuba hit by a cat 3, then south Florida as a cat 2, then Grand Bahama as a cat 2.
• 1950: Mexico south of Vera Cruz is hit by a cat 1 on Oct. 10th.
• 1954: Hurricane Hazel hits Grenada as a cat 1 on the 5th/6th, then Haiti as a cat 2, on the 12th/13th thousands killed.
• 1963: East Cuba hit by Flora as a cat 1, then east Bahamas as a cat 1 on the 9th.
• 1987: Hurricane Floyd hits the Florida Keys as a cat 1 on Oct. 12th.
• 1988: Joan is born on Oct. 10th near 10N x 45W, would later hit Nicaragua as a hurricane on Oct 22nd..
• 1995: Hurricane Roxanne hits the Yucatan as a cat 3 on Oct. 11th.
• 2014, Oct. 12th: Fay becomes a hurricane while passing over Bermuda with 75mph winds.
• 2016, Oct. 6th: Hurricane Matthew hits the western Bahamas while moving N.W. with 130mph winds causing heavy damage on Andros, Nassau and Grand Bahama Islands. On Oct. 7th, just offshore north Florida with 120mph winds. On Oct. 8th, onshore Carolinas as a cat one dumping very heavy rain with massive flooding.
• 2018, Oct. 10th: Category 5 Hurricane Michael devestates Mexico Beach & Panama City with 160mph winds.
• 2020, Oct: 9th: Hurricane Delta hits southwest Louisiana with 105mph winds.
• 2022, Oct. 9th: Hurricane Julia hits southern Nicaragua with 85mph winds.
• 2024, Oct. 9th: Hurricane Milton hits Siesta Key / Sarasota, Florida area with 120mph winds.
