- 1878 September 29th, 90 mph from the south just east.
- 1882 September 3rd, 90 mph from the east-southeast.
- 1888 September 3rd, 125 mph from the east-southeast passed just south many killed. Hit map
- 1891 August 22nd, 95 mph from the east-southeast.
- 1899 August 10th, 120 mph from the east-southeast just south.
- 1908 September 12th, 110 mph from the east-southeast just south.
- 1919 September 7th, 105 mph just north from the east-southeast.
- 1924 November 11th 80 mph from the southwest.
- 1926 July 25th 125 mph from the southeast 427 homes destroyed.
- 1926 September 17th 150 mph winds eye passed just north from the east-southeast. Storm surge killed many and mass graves were used to bury the dead.
- 1928 September 15th, 155 mph from the east-southeast.
- 1933 September 3rd passes just north with 140 mph winds, nearly every home severely damaged. Fourteen people drowned with 8 missing.
- 1945 September 14th, 120 mph from the east-southeast.
- 1954 Hurricane Hazel passes just east with 105 mph winds while moving north on October 14th.

- 1963 October 8th, Hurricane Flora hits with 85 mph from the west-southwest just south causing moderate to heavy damage. NHC wallet
- 1985 November 18th, 90 mph Hurricane Kate passes just south from the east. NHC wallet
- 2004, September 2nd Hurricane Frances passes just North with 145 mph winds, causing minor to moderate damage here from the east-southeast, one death in Bahamas. NHC report
- 2011, August 24th Hurricane Irene passes over while moving west-northwest with 115 mph winds causing heavy damage. Extreme heavy damage up to 90% NEMA said that 90 percent of the settlement at Lovely Bay, Acklins has been wiped out. Irene model history
- 2015 October 2nd Hurricane Joaquin hits the north part of the island while turning north with 130 mph winds. Seven or eight homes reported totally destroyed with reports of many utility poles down. Significant flooding in Delectable Bay, Snug Corner in the North and Mason's Bay. Five houses were destroyed in Mason's Bay and four in Snug Corner. - 2017 September 8th Hurricane Irma hits just south by 59 miles with 150 mph winds while moving west, wide spread damage reported. NHC report
