1877 sept 22nd a cat 1 80mph from the east.
1955 Sept 22nd Hurricane Janet hits with 115mph winds while moving west,heavy damage,

2004 Sept 8th Hurricane Ivan devestates the island with 130mph winds while moving west, 39 killed here. Per NHC final report----At least 80 percent of the 100,000 residents were without power; more than 14,000 homes were damaged or destroyed; 80 percent of the nutmeg trees were destroyed; a 17th century prison was also damaged allowing many of the inmates to briefly escape during the height of the storm; Ivan was the worse hurricane to strike the island since Hurricane Janet in 1955.
2005 July 14th Hurricane Emily hits with 90mph winds causing sporadic damage in areas already hit hard by Ivan the year before.NHC report
