- 1980 hurricane allen August 5th 160 mph winds here just south from the east-southeast, 220 killed pressure 27.88. One half million homeless and damage estimates of 400 Million.
- 1988 September 12th, Hurricane Gilbert passes to south with 125 mph winds from the east-southeast
- 2006 On August 27th, Ernesto breifly became a cat 1. 75 mph Hurricane while moving northwest just southwest of here.5 killed in Haiti hundreds of homes damaged.
- 2008 August 26th Hurricane Gustav hits just north with 90 mph while weakening to T.S while slowly moving west-northwest killing 51 in Haiti due to flooding. Gustav model history
- 2016, October 4th Hurricane Matthew hits with 145 mph winds while moving north devestating this area. As of 2017 reports as many as 546 killed.Tremendous rainfall occurred across the central and western portions of the Tiburon Peninsula, and also over northwestern Haiti, with some locations receiving more than 20 inches. At least 210,000 homes were either destroyed or severely damaged, with about 90% of the houses along the southern coast of the Tiburon Peninsula having been destroyed.
