  • 1963: Hurricane Flora hits Grenada as a cat 3 on Oct. 1st, then hits Haiti as a cat 4 on Oct. 4th, then east Cuba as a cat 3 on Oct. 7th. (over 6,000 killed in Haiti)
  • 1964: Hilda hits Louisiana as a cat 2 on Oct. 4th.
  • 1966: Inez hits Andros island as a cat 1 on Oct. 3rd, then dips S.W. & hits the Florida Keys as a cat 1 on Oct. 4th, then brushes the Yucatan peninsula as a cat 3 & hits Tampico, Mexico as a cat 3 on Oct. 10th.
  • 1967: Fern hits Tampico, Mexico as a cat 1.
  • 1995: Opal hits the Florida Panhandle as a cat 2 on Oct. 4th after nearly becoming a cat 5.
  • 2000: Hurricane Keith lingers offshore of Belize with 135mph winds on Oct. 1st & on the 2nd moves inland as a minimal hurricane. Would later move into Gulf, restrengthen, & hit Mexico near Tampico as a cat 1.
  • 2002: Hurricane Lili hits west Cuba on the 2nd with 100mph winds & then hits central Louisiana with 100mph winds on Oct. 3rd after earlier being a cat 4.
  • 2005, Oct. 4th: Hurricane Stan hits just south of Vera Cruz, Mexico.
  • 2015, Oct. 2nd: Hurricane Joaquin hits the central Bahamas as a cat 4 before turning N.E.
  • 2016, Oct. 4th: Hurricane Matthew hits Tiburon Peninsula, Haiti with 145mph winds causing widespread devastation. Within 12 hrs would hit east tip of Cuba with 130mph winds.
  • 2017, Oct. 5th: Nate forms in S.W. Caribbean. It would later hit Mississippi as a cat 1.
